“I am excited to announce our first-ever art installation at Heirloom Café featuring the works of local artist and designer Beth Miles. We are kicking off the exhibit Sunday, August 23rd, from 2pm-5pm. Beth will be on hand to talk about the project, the works themselves, and to answer any questions you might have. And yes, the ticket includes a glass of wine.
”Beth has been a designer for many years working in a variety of settings and with a variety of mediums. However, her passion for innovation, sustainability, and integrity has grounded her work throughout her career, and is exemplified in this exhibit in the context of materials and subject matter. The watercolor paintings are from Beth’s series inspired by everyday objects, featuring many of her favorite farmer's market finds. Beth is “intrigued by the beauty of everyday objects, items that bring texture and function to our lives yet are often overlooked. Layered over historical text, these subjects come into focus, highlighting the enduring nature of human experience—what changes and what remains the same.” Intentionality, consistency, community, and beauty in simplicity are themes that we work to promote at Heirloom both in the kitchen and in the cellar. I can’t wait to see these themes reflected through the artwork on the walls as well. The works will be available for sale on a first-come, first-served basis.
